A Series Of Special Services For Advent
Welcome to our Advent worship series, Arise and Shine. Each week in this series focuses on a different aspect of the light of Christ and how we are enlightened by him throughout our lives. In our worship for today we celebrate the rising light. Repenting of our sins, we put away the works of darkness and dress in the armor of light.
“Arise, shine, for your LIGHT has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you”. Isaiah 60:1
It is the “counting your blessings” season. Take a moment to realize and give thanks for all your blessings! Many families in our county are continuing to struggle and they turn to places like the Marshall County Needline for assistance. The month of November we will be filling the little red shopping cart with food items that we will deliver to Needline.
Below are a few ideas of items that will be put to good use…
Peanut butter &/or jelly
Crackers for soup
Peanut butter crackers
Spaghetti sauce &/or noodles
Macaroni & cheese
Beans (dry or canned)
The Secret Place
The winter edition of The Secret Place is in. It will cover months December/January/February. It is free to anyone who would like to utilize it for their personal study time. They are in the literature racks in the church. If you do not have access to the church or would prefer not to enter the church, you can request a copy when you pull in for parking lot worship this Sunday.
How Do I Hear The Sermon
If you are in our parking lot this week then you need to tune your radio into 91.5. This will enable you to hear Rev. Kristi as she speaks.
Committee Sign Up
There is a copy of the committees on the bulletin board. Please take a moment and see where you could benefit the church with your time & talents. Once you decide where you would like to volunteer, please let Rachel know in the office so she can get you added to the list.
You can leave a phone message at 270-527-8560 or you can email her at firstname.lastname@example.org
If you were on the list last year and you do not see your name on the list of committee, PLEASE do not think you have been “kicked off”. We are just trying to get a more accurate list of who actually wants on the committees. If you want on a particular committee and your name is no longer there, just let Rachel know and you will gladly be added back on!
Thank you so much for being willing to be part of such an important part of the life of the church. It takes everyone to keep a church growing & serving the Lord!
If you have recently moved and have not given your new address to the church office, please give Rachel a call or email her so she can update your membership records. She wants to make sure everyone receives updates, mailings, and birthday/anniversary cards.
We will host another Blood Drive on Friday, December 18th from 2:00-6:00 in the CAB. Please know that all necessary precautions are being taken by the Red Cross to ensure everyone’s safety.
Every time they use our facility they are so very appreciative. The Blood Drives have been stopped from setting up in many locations so when they are welcomed into someone’s church, they are so grateful for the opportunity to continue doing their work.
Future dates are February 15, April 19, and June 21.
Christmas Eve Service
We will still gather this year for our annual Christmas Eve Service on December 24th at 8:00 PM. It will be held in the church sanctuary. We will adhere to the same guidelines as a regular worship service...temperature taken, masks & social distancing. Please consider coming with your family for this special time of worship with Rev. Kristi.
